I am very happy to announce that Craig Kerstiens [1] from Heroku will be spending an evening with us!

Heroku [2] is a cloud application platform for Ruby, Node.js, Clojure, Java, Python, and Scala.

Craig will give an intro/crash course and touch on some best practices that apply outside Heroku for cloud development.

We are still hashing out the details and I will post further infos closer to the event.

Die gamespace lounge ist für Alle, die an der Computerspieleentwicklung interessiert sind. Es werden Spieleprojekte präsentiert, die sich in der Entwicklung befinden. Diese können dann im Verlauf des Abends auch angespielt und getestet werden. Es gibt genug Zeit sich mit Leuten zu Treffen und über Spieleentwicklung, Computerspiele allgemein und eigene Projekte auszutauschen. Vielleicht entstehen sogar neue Ideen und Anregungen für neue Projekte. Zur Untermalung wird Musik gespielt und Videos gezeigt. Organisiert wird die lounge von http://www.gamespace.ch der Gamedev-Community in Zürich.

Hacking Motto!

Game developement with the PlayN framework targeting android phones.

Creating a time tracking application to be used on android and maybe with GAE backend and HTML5 web GUI.

The Goal Tutorials will be sent to all participants which should be completed before the hackathon to have the developement environment and application skeleton ready.

The Steps Will be communicated later.

The Result Each team presents their game / application and explain the features and show code examples to other teams.

Cognos 10 BI workshop is a free two-days instructor led informational workshop introducing the IBM Cognos 10 Business Intelligence Suite. It will provide a high level overview of all components in Cognos 10 BI (covering the studios and the modeling tools). In addition, attendees will work directly with Cognos 10 components through hands-on exercises. The workshop will end with a migration path from previous versions. The workshop is organized in the following way:

Provide an overview of Cognos platform and components. Attendees will be asked to be a report consumer, meaning they will build business reports in the same way a business analyst produces reports using the various Studios available from Cognos. As a Business Analyst, attendees will experience the integration of Cognos with the Microsoft Office tools and will also experience building enhanced dashboards. Once attendees have endorsed the roles of report consumer and report producer, they will experience the data architect role building a metadata foundation to suite business analysts BI needs. Participants will learn about various IBM OLAP capabilities that can be used within Cognos. Attendees will finish hands-on exercises exploring some Cognos administration tasks.

This workshop includes the following:

Attendees will gain hands-on experience on various Cognos studios to author reports. Attendees will walk away with a good knowledge of Cognos architecture and the entire platform. After completion attendees will have a good understanding of the Cognos 10 Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management offering. They should know which specific product(s) apply to which business reporting needs in order to perform efficient BI and Performance Management.

An diesem Security Lunch geht Herr Werner Blessing auf die Möglichkeiten der biometrischen Authentisierung ein und stellt in diesem Zusammenhang die Authentisierungslösung BIOMETRYsso vor. BIOMETRYsso verwendet mehrere biometrische Verfahren gelichzeitig, wodurch die Lösung wesentlich sicherer als andere Produkte ist, denn es ist sehr unwahrscheinlich, dass ein Angreifer gleichzeitig das Gesicht, die Stimme und die Worterkennung fälschen kann. Diese biometrische Authentisierungslösung ist zudem auch auf mobilen Geräten wie Smartphones nutzbar. Die Präsentation wird auch eine praktische Demonstration beinhalten.
